History

After Hurricane Katrina and Ike decimated the Gulf Region in 2005 and 2008, four friends with direct ties to Louisiana and Texas created a social experience to showcase the unique culture of the “third coast.” Using a popular southern delicacy as the platform, the friends started what is now known as the LaTex Crawfish Boil (“LCB” or “The Boil”).

The LaTex Crawfish Boil began as a backyard cookout hosting New York City Young Professionals with first and second degree relationships. Within a couple of years, the event expanded organically from its backyard setting to a celebrated event with a national brand while hosting events in Austin, Atlanta, Washington DC, Chicago, and New York City. In 2018, the expansion will include Detroit.

THE EXPERIENCE

Southern Hospitality

The LaTex Crawfish Boil is an authentic Southern/Creole experience that reflects the lively atmosphere of the South, specifically Louisiana and Texas, through food and music. This year the LCB will host events in Atlanta, Brooklyn, Detroit, Houston, and Washington DC. Events will bring out between 800 and 2,500 people and will feature local chefs, Djs, and special guests.

Dear Summer

As the “official kick-off to the summer,” The Boil has a regional draw celebrated between June and August. Guests have traveled from California, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. The climate is hot, the music is base-heavy, the fashion is edgy, the drinks are flowing, and the atmosphere is high-energy.

Community Involvement

Born out of tragedy in the Gulf region, the LaTex Crawfish Boil is an event with a social conscience. In the past, LCB has partnered with The Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation, The Foundation for Louisiana, and Just Been Tested donating a portion of the proceeds to benefit social and/or civil organizations that matter most to the communities we serve. We continue to expand our portfolio of support to socially conscious organizations.
